Description
Those in need of support for vision loss or visual impairment are encouraged to come by CRIS Healthy Aging from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16 for assistance through the PACE Visual Impairment North of 55 Program.
The PACE program is open to individuals 55 and older with significant loss of vision due to macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. By attending, individuals will build confidence in managing vision loss through essential daily living skills and assistive technology tools.
There will be a demonstration of low-vision products such as magnifiers, reading machines, wearable devices, CCTVs, and the OrCam small camera that fits on glasses to read print or recognize items. Training will be provided on daily life skills, communication technology and adapting to computer programs and smart devices.
