May 11: Genealogy Workshop. Join us every 2nd Monday for our Genealogy Workshop Series, co-hosted by the Danville Public Library Archives and the Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society. This month: Summer Fun! Talk outdoor research, travel, reunions, and more with Jacqueline Woodard-Smith. 1:00 - 2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.

May 12: Diabetes Support Group. Looking for support in managing diabetes? In partnership with OSF Healthcare, join Illinois Extension for a monthly diabetes support group designed for individuals living with diabetes and their caregivers. Learn more or register at go.illinois.edu/diabetesDPL Second Tuesday of the month from May to December 2026 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.

May 12: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: Build 3D May Flowers - Use crystal gem blocks to build sparkling plants! While supplies last. 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Ages 13 - 19.

May 12: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Break a record. Choose a Guinness World Record and try to break it. 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Ages 8-12.

May 12: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under - Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Program Room.

May 13: Celebrate! Join the Children’s Department each month to learn about and celebrate different cultures with stories and food. In honor of Cinco De Mayo, celebrate with a story, vaso de fruta, sample a homemade tamale, and a refreshing horchata. Watch, or even better, join in the singing and dancing. 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the Program Room.

May 13: Teen Writing Club. We’ve got writing prompts and games to spark your imagination and snacks* to fuel your mind! *While supplies last. Come write, chill, and connect with other teen writers. No pressure, just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Wednesdays, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Teen Space.

May 13: Ukulele Music Club. Join the Ukulele Music Club every 2nd Wednesday for beginner basics at 5 PM and a group jam session at 6 PM - both welcoming all skill levels! Bring your own uke or borrow one of our limited extras and enjoy making music together. The club may even perform around the community! May 14: ESL Family Group - Lotería! Join our family-focused support group for those learning English as a second language. Connect with other families, share experiences, and grow your confidence in a safe, friendly space. May 14: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Thursdays starting in April for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome. Bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves! 3:00 - 4:00 PM in the Program Room.

May 16: Bilingual Family Fun: Lotería! Join Cecilia Perez and family for an afternoon of fun playing Lotería, a traditional Mexican board game similar to Bingo! Come play and win unique prizes!
