August 10: [CANCELLED!] Genealogy Workshop - @ IGHS*. Due to unforeseen circumstance, we will not meet at IGHS on Monday, August 10, 2026. Please look forward to meeting at Danville Public Library on Monday, September 14th for a Show and Share Day: Show Us Your Roots! Bring some of your favorite finds to share with the group and come ready to learn from and cheer on your fellow family finders. August 10: Some Assembly Required: Brickcraft Club. Adults, Teens, and In-betweens: join us the 2nd Monday of each month. Grab a mini block kit, leave with a trinket! Unwind, unplug, and build something small but satisfying, while supplies last. No experience required, just curiosity. 4:00 - 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Intended for ages 10+
August 11: Diabetes Support Group. Looking for support in managing diabetes? In partnership with OSF Healthcare, join Illinois Extension for a monthly diabetes support group designed for individuals living with diabetes and their caregivers. August 11: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: DIY Washi Pens - prep for back to school in style! Customize free pens while supplies last. 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Intended for ages 13 - 19.
August 11: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under - Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Program Room.
August 12: Little House Lunches - Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie - Free Library Screening! Spend your lunch hour on the prairie! Join us each Wednesday in August for exclusive free screenings of this new series. Watch two episodes each week as we follow the Ingalls family’s journey across the frontier. This week: Episodes 3 & 4. Bring your own lunch, relax, and enjoy this fresh take on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved classic. 12:00 - 2:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
August 12: Teen Writing Club. We’ve got writing prompts and games to spark your imagination and snacks* to fuel your mind! *While supplies last. Come write, chill, and connect with other teen writers. No pressure, just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Wednesdays, 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space.
August 12: Ukulele Music Club. Join the Ukulele Music Club every 2nd Wednesday for beginner basics at 5 PM and a group jam session at 6 PM - both welcoming all skill levels! Bring your own uke or borrow one of our limited extras and enjoy making music together. The club may even perform around the community! August 13: Lotería - ESL Family Group! Join our family-focused support group for those learning English as a second language. Connect with other families, share experiences, and grow your confidence in a safe, friendly space. A partnership with DACC. August 13: Stuffie Campout. Register your favorite plush, doll, action figure, or collectable companion at the Children’s Department for a fun-filled campout WEEKEND at the library JUST for THE STUFFIES! Each will receive a keepsake booklet featuring their little friends and all the fun they had! Drop Off: Thursday, August 13th from 3 pm to 7 pm. Pick Up: Monday, August 17th from 8 am to 7 pm in the Children's Department. Ages 0-12.
August 15: Bilingual Family Fun! Join Cecilia Pérez and her family for a fun-filled afternoon for all ages. This month’s topic: Karaoke & International Instruments! Sing, explore instruments from around the world, and celebrate music across cultures. Traditional snacks may be available while supplies last. Únete a Cecilia Pérez y su familia para una tarde divertida para todas las edades. Tema de este mes: ¡Karaoke e Instrumentos Internacionales!
