October 12: Genealogy Workshop. Join us every 2nd Monday of the month for our Genealogy Workshop Series! Each class offers a unique focus, guiding you through the fascinating world of genealogy. Whether you’re looking to enhance your family tree, preserve cherished family photos, or explore other aspects of your heritage, our Library Archives are here to help! 1:00 - 2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
October 13: Diabetes Support Group. Looking for support in managing diabetes? In partnership with OSF Healthcare, join Illinois Extension for a monthly diabetes support group designed for individuals living with diabetes and their caregivers. October 13: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: Paint-by-Number Canvases - follow the paint prompts to make a colorful canvas. 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Intended for ages 13 - 19.
October 13: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under - Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Program Room.
October 14: Celebrate! Join the Children’s Department each month to learn about and celebrate different cultures with stories and food. Join us to celebrate German food and culture! 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the Program Room.
October 14: Teen Writing Club. We’ve got writing prompts and games to spark your imagination and snacks* to fuel your mind! *While supplies last. Come write, chill, and connect with other teen writers. No pressure, just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Wednesdays, 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space.
October 14: Ukulele Music Club. Join the Ukulele Music Club every 2nd Wednesday for beginner basics at 5 PM and a group jam session at 6 PM - both welcoming all skill levels! Bring your own uke or borrow one of our limited extras and enjoy making music together. The club may even perform around the community! October 17: Book Club. Introducing a new Library Book Club led by community members Jenn and Dara! Fresh off Banned Book Week, this month's featured book: Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe, currently one of the top challenged books in the country. Whether you've read the book, graphic novel, eComic, or simply want to be a part of a meaningful conversation, join us from 11 AM - 12 PM in the Linda Bolton Gathering Space.
October 17: Story Time. Have a great time listening, interacting with stories and making a fun craft! Saturdays at 11:00 AM in the Children's Department.
