The Trep School® Launches Soaring Start Workshops for Businesses and Nonprofits

Workshops guide startups through steps to establish and launch

The Trep School® is launching Soaring Start, new workshops for businesses and nonprofits designed to guide them through the steps of starting a new business or nonprofit organization.

The workshops will be delivered in a hybrid format so that participants can choose to participate online or in person at Soar Space Business Center (2 E. Main St., Suite 36 in Riverfront Plaza/Towne Centre).

The session for those establishing for-profit businesses is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 18. The session for nonprofit organizations is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20. The price is $79 for businesses and $99 for nonprofit organizations.

During the workshops participants will be guided through the steps to complete:

• filing LLC or articles of incorporation paperwork with the Secretary of State
• Operating agreement or Bylaws
• Establish their business address
• EIN filing
• Purchase their domain and setup their professional email address on their domain
• Choose a logo
• Establish their business phone service
• Launch and customize their website from their choice of pre-designed landing pages

In addition to the items above, nonprofit participants will also:

• Obtain a government Unique Entity Identifier, which is required for government grants
• Setup an account on the Illinois GATA portal (GATA stands for Grant Accountability and Transparency Act)
• Complete the IRS 1023EZ application for 501(c)(3) status
